So apparently there’s a bug in the PS1 version of this game where if you exit the battle results screen too quickly there’s a chance your game will lock up and, well, you’re out of luck! I managed to trigger this twice tonight before just calling it out of frustration. I’ll give it a little more time to see if I can play around this, but to be honest I’m having conflicting feelings towards the game at the moment.
We’ll see how it goes.
Okay yeah, I definitely feel like I’m breaking the skill system… or at least I did until I almost got owned by a couple spellcasters. I think that was more me being lazy and not targeting the right enemy though.
Not gonna lie, I can’t help but notice how stiff the writing is, and it bothers me a little from time to time… But I’m still loving the game! I’ve really gotten the hang of combat and am finding it to be really fun. Maybe too fun, actually, as that first boss went down a bit too fast…
I’ve never played this game before, but from the second I got into the pre-game settings menus and heard that amazing piano score in the background I knew I excited to into it. I have a sound bar, and I’m not sure if that counts as simulated surround sound or not, and I ended up spending more time than I’m comfortable admitting in the settings… but the music was so good I didn’t care!
As for the game itself, it’s only just barely started, but I’m having a great time.
Well… I gave this game 16 hours to get my attention… and it didn’t, and I am sad, but I am done.
